You don't have to record every person you meet. The Librarian is a background AI that quietly reads your story as it happens.

When the narrator introduces someone new, such as a barkeep or a rival soldier, the Librarian writes a card for them with a backstory and saves it to your Directory. When something important happens (a betrayal, a death, a revealed secret), it updates the cards of everyone involved.

It understands what you mean

You don't need the exact name. Ask about "that strange contraption on the deck" and the Librarian finds the card for the radio mast; mention "the glowing blade" and it finds the sword. It searches by meaning as well as by exact words, then hands the right cards to the narrator just before it writes.
