Where You Are: Locations & Exits

The game always knows exactly where you are standing and which ways out there are, and it remembers what you leave behind.

In many AI games you can start a fight in a cramped cellar, type "I run away", and find yourself sprinting through a sunlit forest. Live Through Time keeps track of the physical world, so that can't happen.

The Environment card

In the left-hand panel, the Environment card shows:

  • Current location: the exact spot you're in, such as "behind the tavern bar" or "the muddy alleyway".
  • Available exits: two to four real ways out from there, such as "out the back door" or "up the wooden stairs".

Both update every turn as you move.

Why it matters

When you try to leave, run or hide, the game checks those exits. If the only doors lead to a cellar or a crowded street, those are your choices. The world changes too: burn a building down and its exits, and anything left inside, are gone.

What you leave behind

Hide, bury or drop something and it stays where you left it. See Inventory & Hidden Items.
