Exporting Your Stories & Characters

Download your story as text, take a full save file of a game, and export characters as V2 character cards.

Your stories belong to you. There are three ways to take them with you.

The story as text

With Timekeeper Mode on, Export Log on the narrator's latest reply downloads the whole story so far:

  • .txt to read offline or share.
  • .jsonl, one line per message, for use in other tools.

A full save file (.lttsave)

A text file only keeps the words. A save file keeps the whole game: your condition, inventory and goals, how everyone feels about you, the places you've discovered and the things you've hidden.

To make one, open Your Memories and use the export button on the story's card. The file is named after the story and the date.

Restoring a save

To protect the worlds from tampered files, saves are restored by hand for now. On Your Memories, choose to restore a timeline, join our Discord and open a support ticket with your .lttsave file. A Timekeeper will restore it, usually within 24 hours.

Why this matters: when a creator updates a world (fixing a mistake or adding new rules), games already in progress normally keep the old version. Export your game, then have it restored into the updated world, and you keep all your progress and get the improvements.

Character cards

In the character list, you can export a character from their card as a V2 character card, the format many AI roleplay apps read. It includes the character and the world they come from.
