Death & Obituaries

Your character can die. If they do, the local paper may print an obituary, and you can rewind.

History is dangerous, and the narrator won't soften your choices. Life was hard, and surviving the Black Death, the trenches of 1917 or the streets of 1952 Chicago is an achievement. Reckless actions, or a run of poor decisions, can kill your character.

When you die:

  • The narrator describes your final moments, and the story stops there.
  • Your obituary appears as a newspaper article in the style of your era, with your portrait and a few words from the people who knew you best.
  • You can read it, then rewind to before the fatal choice and try something else. See Rewinding Time.
