Hello to all our current subscribers, and a huge welcome to everyone who has joined since our last update! We're writing a little earlier than usual this month because we have a big wave of news to share.

As always, a lot has happened over the last few weeks. We've expanded our library of stories, launched Tombstone, revamped our pricing and, perhaps most excitingly, launched our Android app on Google Play!

Tombstone: Silver & Lead 🌵

Our newest era launched over the weekend, and I personally think it's our best yet. We originally planned a mix of fictional and historical figures, but decided to feature a purely historical, deeply interconnected cast of nine playable characters.

Their stories all start at exactly the same moment in a living, breathing boomtown. Virgil Earp and Doc Holliday are about to walk into the Oriental Saloon. Ike Clanton is already inside stirring up trouble, Big Nose Kate is playing cards and Wyatt Earp is standing at the bar. Meanwhile, Nellie Cashman is working at the Russ House, Johnny Ringo is in his room at the Grand Hotel, John Clum is in his office, and Josie Marcus is getting ready to meet Wyatt.

Everyone is on edge after the stagecoach robbery near Bisbee the night before. Every alliance you forge and every trigger you pull ripples through the timeline. History isn't written yet: the town is yours to claim.

We've also made changes in other eras, tightening the stories and making them more exciting with more interconnected characters. Our Victorian England era is now a Dickensian age, with each playable character drawn from the novels. The next era to launch will be 1917: Mud & Revolution.

We're live on Google Play! 📱

We're incredibly proud to announce that the Live Through Time app is now available on the Google Play Store. You can take your timelines on the go! The app has the same deep RPG engine, optimised for mobile, and everything is cross-platform: start a story on the web and pick up exactly where you left off in the app.

(And iOS players, we haven't forgotten you! You can still play in your mobile browser while we work on it.)

Update (October 2026): the iOS app followed in June and is on the App Store.

New pricing, free turns and the 1,000-turn limit ⏳

We want as many people as possible to experience history with us, so we've completely revamped our pricing and introduced a generous free tier. Every registered player now gets 60 free turns every month, no credit card required. You can even try the game as a guest first.

For our hardcore time travellers, the Architect subscription remains the ultimate way to play, now with 1,000 turns a month. We're moving away from the previous "unlimited" model, and we want to be completely open about why: running a highly intelligent AI is expensive.

To keep providing a narrator that genuinely remembers where you buried your sword, and doesn't hallucinate a digital wristwatch into 1348 London, we had to introduce a reasonable ceiling. Our research over the last couple of months shows 1,000 turns is a huge amount of story time, and the change won't affect 95% of players. For the 5% who just can't stop time travelling, we've created add-on packs so you can top up whenever you need to. We hope you understand the reasoning: it keeps the engine incredibly sharp!

Update (October 2026): today guests get 10 turns a month, registered players 60 a month once their email is verified, and Architects 1,000 a month. Turn packs are used once your monthly turns run out. See Turns & Access Tiers.

Join the inner circle on Discord 💬

Finally, we've opened the doors to the Live Through Time Discord server! It's the perfect place to hang out with fellow history buffs, discuss the game and share your wildest in-game triumphs (and brutal deaths).

We're also running an "On This Day in History" series on Facebook, sharing some of history's most obscure and fascinating moments, like the body dumped off the coast of Spain to kick-start Operation Mincemeat. We're bringing those discussions to the Discord to debate whether they'd make a good playable era.

We'd love you to join the conversation and help shape the future of the engine.

Thanks for reading, and good luck in the Wild West.
